SHOWN IS THE RECOVERY BUTCHER BLOCK, A FUNCTIONAL PIECE OF ART GROUNDED IN RECOVERY FURNITURE’S INDUSTRIAL DESIGN ROOTS. IT IS CREATED USING reclaimed doug fir beams AND REPURPOSED VINTAGE TABLE SAW BASES CIRCA 1930-1950’S. I PERSONALLY HAND-SELECT EACH STEEL FRAME FROM LOS ANGELES INDUSTRIAL RECYCLING PLANTS. EACH MACHINE BASE IS CAREFULLY INSPECTED AND CHOSEN BASED ON ITS PATINA, STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY, AND AESTHETICS. IT IS THEN METICULOUSLY RESTORED AND FINISHED, ALLOWING THE RICH HUES OF ITS PATINA TO SHINE THROUGH. A PROTECTIVE CLEAR COAT IS APPLIED TO RETAIN THE BASE’S AUTHENTICITY AND ENSURE ITS LONGEVITY.
THE RECOVERY BUTCHER BLOCK IS A VERSATILE PIECE THAT IS INTENDED TO BE PLACED IN A RESIDENCE, LOFT APARTMENT, RESTAURANT OR WINE STORE. EACH PIECE IS MADE-TO-ORDER AND BASED ON AVAILABILITY.
